I’m thinkin of buying one as my only car and I commute in city, highway and heavy traffic. Is that selective ride control a must for daily driving? I like a lighter feeling clutch, how stiff is it?

  2. watso64 says:

    this is the last body style Vette I like. C6 looks alittle cheap to me. only thing I like about the C6 is the extra power and the ability to use regular gas without causing issues.{not a big factor though}

    beauty

  4. coolbeans1970 says:

    These guys are real weenies

  5. nofords2003 says:

Exactly, sorry I did not clarify. I was referring to the ZR1 comments, not the C5.

  6. bajabusta says:

ooops, I don’t think so! Just the ZR1

  7. nofords2003 says:

It’s quite interesting that Mercury Marine manufactured the motor for this monster, too. That ZR1 package must still be the most expensive “option” I can think of on a car.

  8. nofords2003 says:

Okay, enough. This is the 3rd time you’ve made the comment and it makes no sense. Why are they “weenies?” The verdict is in and your opinion stinks.

The C4 is a great looking car, though.

  9. dqSOBERqd says:

    It drives STIG!

  10. jkeelsnc says:

Good car. Too bad it had the notchy, hard to shift Tremec transmission. In fairness. some itialian sports cars had to difficult to tshift transmissions. And with all that torque and power it takes a serious transmission to transmit it to the road reliably.

  11. bajabusta says:

i wouldn’t go that far. are you going to make me go to my archive..

  12. 262Blazer says:

not really given that the lt1 camaros and trans ams were killing the c4 until the c5 came out

  13. bajabusta says:

everything is relative, the C4 spanned for many years and the base model was quite fast in the later iterations.

  14. 262Blazer says:

oh heck naw the zr1 was a beast but the base c4 was pretty slow

  15. bajabusta says:

    Not the ZR1

  16. 262Blazer says:

    but the c4 is slow

24.000 Euro’s. In the USA you can get the same car for, say, 16.000 dollars, so I bought 1 car for the price of two. I could have bought a nice Vette in the USA but to get it here in Holland, licenced and all, plus shipping and taxes would cost me about the same as buying one over here and at least now I knew what I was buying. Gotta love living in the Netherlands, sigh…

  18. KingHaggis says:

You’re right about the bad power window switches. I bought mine a few weeks ago and already the passengerside window won’t come down anymore :-(

  19. TRUDOWNSOUTH says:

How much you paid for it???

  20. coyote3838 says:

The C5 suffers from leaky rear axles,
rocking seats, column lock, bad oil sending units, bad power window
    switches. The C4 rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. KingHaggis says:

Awesome vid. I just bought a black C5 Corvette Coupe with 35K miles on it. Great car to have, especially here in the Netherlands. Buying a used C5 Vette here is twice as expensive than buying one in the States but it was worth every Euro. The mighty V8 Vette is much better than our European sissy cars. Man, what a torque and what a blast to drive!!!

  22. bajabusta says:

    stylistically yes, performance, nah.

  23. coyote3838 says:

These guys are weenies the C4 was the
    best Vette. 1996 corvettes rule!!!

  24. jimg0007 says:

i own a c5 and as far as the headlights go yea they are a pain cuz i had to replace the gears with brass ones! the c6 non pop up headlights are going with the time! think about it which sports car, exotic car has pop up head lamps right now!! none lambo ferrari porsche its all about whats right for the car not tradition i will get a c6 too!!! some day!!!!!!!

  25. KingHaggis says:

I always wondered how stiff the suspension of a C5 is without the ride control switch. This vid clears things up for me. Thanks for posting!
