What fool typed that the new 2011 Mustang is as fast as the GS? I have read all of the specs on both and that is far from the truth. Motortrend has the GS running 0-60 on 4.0 seconds. Not to mention, base C6s with autos are running 12.30s @ 115-117 mph in videos right here. The GT is not that quick or fast and no where near the handling by a longshot. I love the new new Mustang, but an all around performer like the C6 it will never be.
To bad the new GS left the original 1963 327 out from under the hood. I know the LS3 is better by far. It’s just that the new 5.3 would’ve kept the GS somewhat in line with it’s 60’s herritage. As you can tell by now, I prefer herritage and tradition over all else. Oh well…..Corvette still rules!!!

@CeeStyleDj Go to the utube search at the top of this page and enter grandsport to cosco. You’ll find a short video that talks about the ride and takes you on a 2 minute ride along.
@CeeStyleDj The ride is supposed to be a little stiffer than the base vette. Magnetic selective ride control is not available on the grand sport. The brochere that I’m looking at says it’s an option on the base model standard on the zr1and not available on zo6 or grand sport.
Can someone tell me where the ride quality in the Grand Sport would rank vs. the Base Corvette, The Z06 and the ZR1? ( Also, does the grand sport have a selective ride control option? I heard its basically like the old Z51 pack but f teh z51 had ride control, which setting would the Grand Sport most closely emulate. THanks!

You may be right about the figures, but when was the last time Ford made anything worth buying? Anytime I’ve driven a Mustang it felt like a 2door sedan, it was weak.
I ordered one just like the one in this video.(3lt,auto) I’ve owned 4 vettes since 1974 and they just keep getting better.I just don’t need anything more than the GS. Come on 430hp is enough for me. The zo6 and zr1 to me would be like dating a stripper. It might be nice for a while but not something I could live with on a daily basis.

Just a Poor mans Z06. Why would someone cheapout and want a GS.
Add the 6K and get a Z06.
For F sake the new 2011 Mustang GT runs just as fast as the GS.
For 15k less to boot.
I feel sorry for the fools that buy the GS & then get there butt kicked by a 2011 Mustang GT.
That would never happen in a Z06.
I worship Corvettes ever since I was 15; this GS is just awesome.

I guess all the people that buy Ferrari’s are pussies also because Ferrari no longer offers a manual transmission and Lamborghini Aventador is basically phased them out also.
I guess all the Nascar and F1 drivers are also because these use F1 transmissions also.

Now if they would get rid of the fiberglass/plastic mono leaf springs , add coil over springs , make a DSG style gear box… Thankfully they did not put the PLASTIC window hood for the ZR1 on it.
Just drop the Z06 and put the LS7 in the Grand sport
@DocWolph I am dense because the same company if offering essentially the same car for $20,000 less and I don’t think it makes sense?
The Corvette interior is crap, that is universally acknowledged, even Corvette will tell you that.
That is why they offer the half ass 4LT package to try to give you a semi decent interior.

No. You are just being dense. Given that you see no reason to get a Z06, the only reason why you would get a Z06 is that you wanted a Z06. Also I would not be keen to call a C6’s interior lousy. It isn’t posh but it isn’t lousy.
nice but doesnt look like a real GS, they should make the 2 red fender stripes standard
@DocWolph I have the money and I can’t understand why you would pay $20,000 more for essentially the same car, with the GS being a little better because you can remove the top.

It is not like you actually get a decent interior with the Z06, it is the same lousy interior.
The GS is the hands down best value of the Corvette line up.
