is a Porsche 911 Targa wider than a Carrera?
I was following a yellow 997 Targa 4S today and I could swear its rear wheel arches looked much wider than a Carrera S or 4S??
Or could it be that the Targa cockpit it slimmer due to the glass roof?
Or was I fooled by the yellow color?
Second Question:
Are there any size differences between any 911 Targa and Carrera models? Including the 4, 4s, 2, 2s etc…

by a miniscule amount th 911 targa is wider
According to the specs published by Porsche, the Targa body is slightly wider than the standard Carrera Coupe (72″ wide compared to 71.2″ for the standard Coupe). However, the widebody cars (Turbo, 4S, etc) are all the same width, regarldess of body style (coming in at 72.9″ wide). The S versions, as well as many of the wide bodys also are setup with slightly lower ride heights, such that while the unibody’s height is the same for all of these cars, it is possible that the lowered ride height could affect the perception of width when viewed from behind (or other perception issues).
