What size muffler should i get for my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta?

I have a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 1.8T. I’m looking to buy just a new muffler for it, not a whole new exhaust system. And i dont know what size inlet i should be looking for. The car currently has its stock muffler on it. It has two pipes coming out of one muffler. And yeah im just looking for my inlet size. Any help is appreciated, thanks

The stock exhaust on your 1.8T is 55mm, which is 2.17″. You’re not going to be able to find a non-OEM muffler with this inlet size, so what most people do is buy an aftermarket muffler with a more common 2.25″ inlet and expand the stock exhaust piping to overlap.
