…all thanks to an article in the ‘Daily Mail’. Here we go;

‘Brawn are stalling on dounling his (Jenson) salary from £3m to £6m because they cannot afford it. Mercedes, who are looking to buy a 75 per cent share in Brawn and renaming the team in their own image, might yet resolve the team’s cash problems and resign Button on the improved terms he legitimately feels entitled to as world champion. That is the most likely outcome’

OK, we get that. But up next comes the bit that really puzzles me;

‘Meanwhile, Mclaren are toutng themselves as an alternative. It would mean Button partnering Lewis Hamilton.
Mercedes must find a way to extricate themselves from the 40 per cent stake in McLaren before moving in with Brawn. It is understood that that the divorcing couple will finally come to an agreement involving Mercedes providing engines to McLaren’

WHAT? I’m guessing that this is either is one of or a mix of these two;
Mercedes is only allowed to have a stake in one team?
Mercedes basically wants a team that is their own, and are doing what BMW did with Peter Sauber.

But why sell a stake in a team that will continue to do brilliantly, to buy a stake in a team that will need so much investment?
And is this just more Daily Mail made up BS, as I haven’t seen anything about this on other sites. And when the BBC commentators speak of Mercedes buying into Brawn, they dont mention the abondonment of McLaren :S

You’re right thought. I just hope that they don’t make the same mistake as BMW and go for a majority share at the wrong time.

I am already getting a brand new mercedes. I was thinking in 6-7 months getting an SLR Mclaren. I am buying it 4 $$440,000 and its brand new! I caN totally afford it buy my uncles paying 1/4th of it. The rest with my hard earned money. DONT MEAN IN ANSWERING THIS QUESTION!

Lewis Hamilton drew first blood in the opening practice session for the Turkish Grand Prix on Friday, when he lapped a second faster than McLaren team mate Jenson Button. The 2008 champion circulated in 1m 29.672s to set the pace initially before Button responded with 1m 29.623s.

We are quite sure Alonso won’t win 7 championships as Michael did but how many will he win?

The last time Mclaren won a championship was in 1999 with Mika Hakkinen and a much more reliable Mercedes engine. Foolish of him to move after two consecutive titles and in my opinion he has had the best car for the last two years. In 05 the one set of tires per race rule was implemented specifically to end the Michael/Ferrari dominance because people were losing interest because of that dominance. The Renault last year was stronger than the Ferrari in the first half of the season (obviously) and on equal terms in the second half. I am quite certain Michael would have gone on to win the Japanese GP and his eighth title if not for his motor. What are your thoughts on this?

I like s2000’s but its kinda expensive for having only 240hp but yet again put a Greddy Racing kit and it will take the s2000 to like 350 horses.
